Unnathi Junior College for Deaf
Unnathi Junior College for Deaf is a part of Special School for the Deaf(SSD) run by Sweekaar Rehabilitation Institute for the Handicapped. Unnathi Junior College for the deaf was established on 27th July 2000 for imparting quality education for the deaf students at intermediate level in MEC (Maths, Economics, Civics) and C.E.C. (Commerce, Economics and Civics) courses. Apart from the academic courses Computer Training is also imparted every day for one hour during both the years. The College has an attached hostel for both boys and girls with male and female Wardens staying in the hostel.
Admission Procedure: - Admissions are taken into first year intermediate through admission test. 105 students appeared for the test and 86 students were qualified and given admission into first year course. But 5 out of the above students have got I.T.I. seats and so they dropped.
After the completion of the admissions, Regional Inspecting Officer (R.I.O.) inspected the college and satisfied with maintenance of the registers and teaching pattern of the college. He had conducted a meeting with the Teaching staff and gave valuable suggestions to achieve good results in the public examinations.
Admission Procedure:
Admissions are taken into first year intermediate as per the schedule of Board of Intermediate. This year a total of 89 students joined but one student dropped on account of some personal problem. After the completion of the admissions, Regional Inspection Officer (R.I.O) inspected the college on 30.08.2008, and was satisfied about the maintenance of the records and teaching pattern of the college. She conducted a meeting with the Teaching staff and gave valuable suggestions to achieve good results in the public examinations.
