SWEEKAAR REHABILITATION INSTITUTE FOR HANDICAPPED, KADAPA
Sweekaar Rehabilitation Institute for Handicapped started working from 21st April 2005. It was inaugurated by His Excellency Sushil Kumar Shinde, Governor, A.P. The center provides services related to Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Hearing Testing.
After the approval from RCI, A.P. State Higher Education & Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupati, B.Sc., (ASLP) Course was started on 23.12.2005. Honourable Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy inaugurated the College. We are presently having 33 students in B.Sc.( ASLP).
Sweekaar Degree College of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology has progressively developed not only in terms of strength of students but also in terms of quality of the training program. The present intake is 20 students per batch.
Academic Program
In this year III batch of B.Sc. (ASLP) started with an intake capacity of 2- students after approval by RCI and S.V. University. The students were selected as per S.V. University rules. The students enrolled this year were not only from different districts of A.P. and also from different states of India.
Outreach programs
Infant screening program
1. Pulse Polio Ward, Kadapa,
Sweekaar Degree College of Audiology & Speech language Pathology, Kadapa is regularly conducting infant hearing screening program in the Pulse Polio Centre at Govt. Head Quarter Hospital, Kadapa.
Rural Screening Program
The College participated in various rural camps and evaluated children with speech & hearing disorders.
