AASHRAY FOR BABIES AT HIGH RISK UNIT
Aashray a unit for Babies at high risk was started in the year 2001 with a motto to serve infants born with a high risk factor. Its main focus is to prevent delays in developmental mile stones at early age and also creating awareness by educating mothers.
The unit takes care of infants who are born with high risk factors. During this year 690 infants were identified with following causes:
Birth asphyxia - 99
Breech Presentation - 22
Convulsions - 89
Forceps - 51
Gestational Hypertension - 39
Hypoglycaemia - 31
Hypothyroid - 17
Hypoxia - 49
Low birth weight - 75
Maternal Diabetes - 34
Post Meningitis - 22
Prematurity - 73
Severe Jaundice - 89
The Unit has successfully streamlined 192 cases from the above.

Diagnosis : Mild Developmental Delay with Davis Syndrome
This boy has come to institute with inabilities to hold neck and roll over, and unable to speak. After joining the Institute Rehabilitation team with multidisciplinary approach had formulated the therapy including Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Child Developmental Specialist and Psychologist.
With the therapy within no time child has showed lot of improvement. Now he is able to stand with support, able to speak few words has improved cognitively also, his physical development also picked up fast.

Master Kumara Swamy was brought to the Institution with the complaints of unable to sit independently and unable to walk independently. He was assessed by the multidisciplinary team and diagnosed as developmental delay & diplegia CP.
A team of Multidisciplinary approach which includes physiotherapist, occupational therapist, child developmental specialist and psychologist together had formulated a therapy plan, which was followed by client regularly. After regular therapy child had showed lot of improvement in first month itself. He is now able to come to sit independently, stand independently and able to walk without support.

Baby Amrutha has brought to the Institution with the complaints of unable to hold neck and rollover. Having poor vocalization. A team of multidisciplinary approach which includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy. Child developmental specialist and psychologist together had formulated a therapy plan which was given and followed by parents regularly.
Within three months child has developed neck control and rolling. Now child is able to sit independently and achieved babbling sounds.
